PROPOSED HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ON 1.6 ACRES IN STAFFORD

11 February 2010

Hallam Land Management Limited, the strategic land subsidiary of Henry Boot plc, have applied for planning permission to Stafford Borough Council for 14 new homes on its 1.6 acre site at Creswell Manor Farm, Stafford.

The exciting new scheme proposes a number of property styles from semi-detached and detached houses offering flexible mixed accommodation with 2 and 3 bedroom designs built on a traditional 2 storey basis.

The plans include landscaping blending in new green spaces, meadow planting, hedge planting and grass lands with existing features, along with linking footpaths. The overall scheme is completed by an equipped children's play area and a multi-use games pitch. In addition a car park area accommodating some 32 places including 4 disabled positions has been proposed for visitors to the adjoining facilities including the football pitch and Doxey Marshes Nature Reserve.

The proposed residential development will complement the existing properties which were built by Henry Boot Homes in the 1970's and 1980's, and Paul Burton, Regional Manager for Hallam Land Management commented "We have been in discussions with the council about these proposals for some time to make sure that we get the improvements to the open space right as well as the mix of the housing to satisfy local needs, and we hope for a positive response in the near future".
