The Modern Slavery Act 2015 - Group Statement: View here

X

“Henry Boot PLC and its Group Companies welcome the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the “Act”) including any measures which seek to bring about greater transparency and scrutiny into our various supply chains, in order to combat slavery and trafficking activities.

In accordance with the legislation, we have produced a Human Trafficking and Slavery Statement (the “Statement”), setting out the introduction of various measures throughout our supply chain management which will be most effective at reducing the risk of slavery and trafficking activities being present within our business operations. These measures include the introduction of an Anti-Slavery Policy, due diligence requirements, and mandatory contract clauses seeking compliance by our supply chain with appropriate anti-slavery measures.

We will be regularly working with our partners, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to bring these measures into effect, and then to review their effectiveness and consider any changes or additional measures which such a review highlights.”

Local Communities

Hallam recognises that achieving optimum solutions for local communities will require the commitment of and cooperation between landowners, developers, local people, the local councils and other local interest groups.

Hallam offers a long-term commitment and hopes that it will be joined by existing and new partnerships in helping to shape solutions to community needs.

In order to inform and shape planning application proposals prior to submission, Hallam actively seek to engage the local community, local stakeholder organisations, Parish Councils and Local Authorities.

An example of our commitment to a local community can be demonstrated by our development at Halfway in Sheffield, where over a number of years we have completed a wide variety of projects since our interest commenced in 1993.

Environment

Hallam recognises the importance of environmental responsibility throughout all its activities.

Hallam and all Directors and staff will conduct their business with respect and care for the environment, by planning, implementing and monitoring their operations, using best practical means.

  • Protect and enhance the environment at large
  • Reduce, as far as possible, the environmental impact of its activities
  • Comply with the requirements of relevant environmental legislation and regulations
  • Promote the health and safety of all those involved in its activities
  • Increase employee awareness and training in environmental matters
  • Promote corporate environmental values to consultants, advisers, suppliers and all business contacts
  • Make this policy freely available to the public and the communities in which the company operates
