Business Parks
One of the first sites HLM promoted successfully was the 138-acre Gimbro Farm site adjacent to East Midlands Airport. Following a protracted appeal and High Court challenge, planning permission was obtained for a business park with airport related uses. The site has been developed for DHL as a major distribution centre.
A 130-acre site at Blackpool was also successfully promoted through two local plans and the developments on the site have provided many local people with employment at the large B&Q, hotel, pub, car showrooms and offices.
At Mosborough in Sheffield we purchased a large employment site and following the relocation of the local sewage works have promoted a mixed use development including a Morrisons superstore, Arnold Laver's national production plant and 250 houses.
In Scotland we promoted a 23-acre site at Macmerry for employment use and this was purchased by the local authority following grant of planning permission.
We continue to work on new schemes on a national basis as we look to enhance our reputation in this sector of the industry.
