Sustainable development is high in the national and international agenda as the world strives to reverse the global impacts of climate change.
HLM for their part are committed to sustainable development in all of the market sectors in which we are involved but have also chosen to be proactive in promoting renewable energy projects. These projects range from investigating the provision of community heat and power plants on some of the larger development schemes to local, medium sized, wind turbines to meet localised electricity requirements.
However, in addition to this, HLM is promoting bespoke wind energy projects with individual turbines having installed capacities of up to 2.5 mw.
The company has already obtained planning approval in County Durham for one such scheme and is in the process of promoting a number of further schemes with the largest of these having a total installed capacity of around 35 mw.
