Hallam Land entered into Option Agreements with two landowners at Adel. The 33 acre site sits adjacent to a Grade I listed church and Conservation Area. Despite an earlier planning refusal and strong local objection, Hallam continued to promote the site and secured an allocation for development in Leeds Council’s Draft Site Allocations Plan. Leeds Council proposed to allocate the site as a Phase 2 development for 58 houses and a school. Phase 2 Developments usually come forward within 5 – 10 years of the Local Plan’s adoption however Hallam applied for planning on October 2016, prior to the final submission of the Plan and secured approval for 100 houses and a Primary School in July 2017. The site was sold to Barratt Homes in 2018.
