Hallam Land purchased the freehold of this site in 2008 as the previous landowner wished to release capital,yet retain an interest in future development uplift via an overage.

Having engaged at length with the Parish Council to understand their aspirations for new school/community parking. Hallam Land submitted a planning application for 150 plots along with a car park and new entrance to the adjacent Secondary School and new sports pitches. This application was refused and dismissed at Appeal on landscape grounds. A further application of 125 plots was also refused.

Harnessing significant local support for the scheme, and with our continued promotion over a number of years, the Parish Council allocated the site within their emerging Neighbourhood Plan. Once this Plan was finalised, we resubmitted the planning application which was approved, with the site then being sold to Mulberry Homes.
