The proposals for Perry Court Farm were highly contentious being the first site to breach the A2 at Faversham, for many years the A2 was seen as a barrier to development.

Having submitted a planning application for up to 310 plots, 5 hectares of employment, a 60-bed care home, 100 bed hotel, and retail, the scheme was gained at Committee. The site was subsequently included within the Swale Local Plan.

The residential site was sold to Barratt Homes and the commercial to Henry Davidsons Developments, who later contracted the care home to LNT, retail to Aldi, and the hotel to Premier Inn.
