Hallam enter a promotion agreement in 2002 for 22 acres and submitted an application in 2008 for 232 new homes. This was refused by the Council and at appeal, despite an emerging Local Plan allocation. As it formed part of a larger site Hallam negotiated and collaborated with neighbouring stakeholders and submitted a planning application for 600 new homes, a primary school and community/ retail facilities. This application was also refused by members despite an Officer recommendation for approval. We appealed but also submitted a further duplicate application to the Council in 2014. The duplicate application received planning permission in 2015 and the appeal was withdrawn. The site was sold to Persimmon Homes following reserved matters consent in 2018.
Hallam has ensured that the shared infrastructure and non- residential aspects of the permission are delivered and proportioned correctly between the stakeholders.
